About The Guests
Mark Waid has been writing comic books since 1984.
In 1987, he joined DC Comics as staff editor. Two years later he left DC to pursue a
freelance career that spanned throughout the 90s and led to award-winning runs on
The Flash and Captain America. In 1996, he co-created the award-winning Kingdom Come.
Waid has worked for every major comics publisher and has written a broad range of
well-known comics characters, including Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, The X-Men, and
Archie. GrossGen Comics recently announced that Waid has signed an exclusive contract
and will be writing Sigil for them. See the full story under "August 22" at

Al Williamson is a legendary EC Comics artist
and is currently inking Marvel Comics' Spider-Girl as well as numerous covers.
Williamson is best known for his work on science fiction comics. From the EC Comics of
the 1950's through the classic Star Wars comics, nobody draws a better space ship or
ray gun than Williamson! He has also drawn newspaper strips, most notably Star Wars
and Secret Agent Corrigan.
Roger Stern is currently writing Marvel Comics'
Spider-Man: Revenge Of The Green Goblin, Avengers Infinity and
Marvel: The Lost Generation. Stern has written many famous comic characters
including Superman and Spider-Man. His prose novel, The Death and Life of Superman,
was a New York Times bestseller. He is a resident of the Finger Lakes area.
Tom Peyer, writer of DC Comics' Hourman
and DC 2000, is both an artist and a writer. In addition to his work for DC Comics,
he co-wrote O Holy Cow!: The Selected Verse of Phil Rizzuto which was favorably
reviewed in the New York Times Book Review, and Ronald Reagan's Contradictionary.
He is from the Syracuse area.
Tom McCraw, colorist of DC Comics' Flash,
Impulse, and Legion, is a long-time fan of DC Comics' Legion of Super-Heroes
with an encyclopedic knowledge of their adventures, and has both written and plotted
Legion stories in addition to his work as a colorist.
Sports illustrator Joe Orsak is the creator of
Syracuse's own superhero Captain 'Cuse, and the creator of Faceballs™!
